Speaker's Biography:
Arnold Milstein
National Healthcare Thought Leader, Mercer Human Resource Consulting
Arnold Milstein is Medical Director of the Pacific Business Group on Health (PBGH), the largest health care purchasers coalition in the U.S., and National Health Care Thought Leader at Mercer Human Resource Consulting. He is also an associate clinical professor at the University of California San Francisco Medical Center and a worldwide partner at Mercer. Milstein′s work focuses on improving health care programs for large purchasers, providers and government. He has written widely on health benefits plan performance improvement and health care delivery re-engineering. He participates in national committees to develop standardized performance measures for physicians, hospitals, and health insurers and leads the technical team for the Consumer-Purchaser Disclosure Project. Business Insurance magazine selected Milstein as "one of the 20 people who has made a difference in employee benefits management in the past 20 years." The New England Journal of Medicine described him as a "pioneer" in efforts to advance quality of care. Milstein was a National Academy of Science Rosenthal Lecturer in it′s series on improving health care performance. Milstein earned his M.D. at Tufts University and his MPH at University of California, Berkeley.
