Speaker's Biography:
Charles Homcy
Senior Research & Development Advisor, Millennium Pharmaceuticals Inc.
Charles Homcy, MD, is Senior Research & Development Advisor at Millennium Pharmaceuticals Inc. He joined Millennium in 2002 as president of research and development. Prior to that, he was executive vice president of research and development and a director at COR Therapeutics, Inc. Homcy has been clinical professor of medicine at the University of California at San Francisco Medical School and attending physician at the San Francisco VA Hospital since 1997. Homcy served as president of the medical research division of American Cyanamid Company-Lederle Laboratories (now a division of Wyeth-Ayerst Laboratories)for one year and he was executive director of the cardiovascular and central nervous system research section at Lederle Laboratories. Homcy also served as attending physician at The Presbyterian Hospital, College of Physicians and Surgeons, at Columbia University in New York. From 1979 to 1990 he was attending physician at Massachusetts General Hospital and an Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. Homcy earned his MD degree at the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore.
