Vladimir Tyurenkov
Managing Director, Eastern Europe and Russia, Hansberger Global Investors
Vladimir Tyurenkov is Managing Director of Eastern Europe and Russia for Hansberger Global Investors Inc. (HGI), a U.S. investment advisor firm managing more than $10 billion in assets for global, emerging markets and international mandates. Previously, Tyurenkov spent several years working for the Russian government and on the Pepperdine University Russian Conversion and Privatization Program, in which he developed and implemented business plans for Russian companies entering the private sector. His work included restructuring company product lines, as well as financial resource management strategy. Tyurenkov has an in-depth understanding of Russian business development and of the Eastern European marketplace. As part of a six-person task force, he was involved in finalizing the "5+5" Russian electrical utility-sector restructuring program. He is currently on the board of directors of OGK-4, one of the major electrical generation companies in Russia. Tyurenkov has a master′s degree in computer science from Moscow State Technical University and an MBA in finance from Pepperdine University.
