John Ong
Managing Director and Global Head of High Yield, BNP Paribas
John Ong is a Managing Director and Global Head of High Yield of BNP Paribas. He is responsible for BNP's high-yield capital markets, sales, trading and research activities in New York, London and Hong Kong. Ong has been with BNP since 2000, when he joined as its first head of high-yield capital markets in London and led teams that executed the bank's first-ever bookrunner roles for corporate and financial sponsor-related high-yield transactions in euro and dollars. Prior to joining BNP, he spent 18 years with Bankers Trust (now Deutsche Bank), where he held various international management roles. His most recent position with Bankers Trust was as managing director in the High-Yield Capital Markets Group. He also held positions in European debt capital markets and as a senior country officer in Turkey and Egypt. Ong received his bachelor's degree from Amherst College.
