Sivendran Vettivetpillai is CEO of London-based Aureos Advisers Ltd. (AAL), which specializes in funds for emerging and developing markets. Prior to this appointment in 2004, he was AAL's chief investment officer. He created fund structures and templates to ensure quality and consistency, developing a proprietary investment process following 12 years of experience in making private equity investments in emerging markets. He was instrumental in applying portfolio development and management theory to private equity investment across the Aureos Group. Prior to joining AAL, Vettivetpillai was a senior investment executive at CDC (from which Aureos was established in 2001), responsible for evaluating third-party fund investments and CDC's portfolio of managed funds. He previously worked for three years at Ayojana, CDC's fund-management company in Sri Lanka, where he managed private equity investments. He has also worked as a portfolio manager at Vanik Inc., as a consultant at City Financial Partners and as an engineer at Mott Macdonald Group. Vettivetpillai received a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Imperial College in London, and is a chartered financial analyst (CFA).
