Steven Green
Former U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Singapore; Managing Director, Greenstreet Partners
Steven Green, a former U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Singapore (1997-2001), is currently Managing Director of Greenstreet Partners, a private merchant bank. He is also the founding partner of a real estate investment company with holdings throughout the United States. As ambassador, Green spearheaded a number of strategic programs that enhanced U.S.-Singapore relations in economic development, intellectual property, immigration and national security. He is currently a special advisor to the Government of Singapore; vice chairman of Knowledge Universe Learning Centers; and a director of Vistage International Inc., Cardean Learning Group and Greenstreet Capital Management Inc., among others. Green has 25 years' experience as an international industrialist leading major corporate restructurings and expansions in a host of manufacturing, housing, consumer products, retail and real estate enterprises. He served as chairman and CEO of Samsonite Corp. from 1988 to 1996. Green is actively involved in the community, including the Children's Health Fund, the University of Miami Board of Trustees and Dean's Council at Harvard's Kennedy School of Government. He is also chairman of the Green Family Foundation.
