Robert Knebel joined Flexjet in 2003 as Vice President of Sales, with more than 20 years of experience in the aviation industry. He plays a key role in developing fractional aircraft ownership, a rapidly evolving segment of business aviation. Prior to joining Flexjet, Knebel was vice president of sales for the Citation business jet product line, working for the Cessna Aircraft Company. He also served as vice president of sales for the Beech Aircraft Corp. (now a division of Hawker Beechcraft Corp.) and was co-founder and general manager of Gemini Distributors, which developed and introduced Securaplane aircraft security systems. His first executive position was as U.S. sales director for the Learjet product line, working for Wichita-based Gates Learjet, which is now a division of Bombardier. He credits his early Learjet experience with setting in motion a lifelong passion for the business jet industry and its products.
