Timothy Lappen is Founder and Chairman of the Family Office Group at the law firm of Jeffer, Mangels, Butler & Marmaro LLP. Serving as outside general counsel to high-net-worth individuals and their families and businesses, Lappen emphasizes family office matters and general business, corporate and real estate law. He is a member of the firm's corporate and real estate departments, and belongs to its Global Hospitality and Commercial Finance groups. A frequent speaker, he was recognized in 2007 by Worth magazine as one of the "Top 100 Attorneys" in the United States. Lappen is active in numerous civic activities, among them the Los Angeles Regional Foodbank and the Center for Childhood. He also is a past president of the UCLA Law School Trustees and the Santa Monica Protective Association. He received a bachelor's degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and a J.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles.
