Blaise Karibushi
Country Director, Access Project in Rwanda
Blaise Karibushi is the Country Director of the Access Project in Rwanda. He joined the Access Project in 2006 with more than 16 years' experience in public health programs. He also heads the Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTD) program that aims to control five NTDs in Rwanda. His primary task is to work with officials to ensure that key health systems function well and the people of Rwanda receive quality health care. Karibushi previously served as the national coordinator of the Global Fund Project Management Unit in Rwanda, where he managed four Global Fund projects with a total budget of $100 million. Previously, he was the director of the National Tuberculosis and Leprosy Control Program. He has consulted for numerous institutions, such as the World Health Organization and Rwanda's Ministry of Health. Karibushi received a degree in medicine and surgery from the University of Kinshasa in Congo and a master's degree in public health from Boston University; he is currently pursuing an M.B.A. from the Maastricht School of Management in the Netherlands as part of its Outreach Program.
