Robert Cavnar is President and CEO of Milagro Exploration LLC, a privately held company focused on building investor value by exploring for, developing and producing oil and gas reserves in the onshore Gulf Coast region. The company was formed in 2005 by a senior management team from Mission Resources, where Cavnar served as chairman, president and CEO from 2002 until 2005, when Mission merged with Petrohawk Energy Corp. During his tenure at Mission, Cavnar led the recovery of the company's financial strength through balance-sheet restructuring and realignment of producing properties. The firm's market capitalization rose from approximately $13 million to $350 million at the merger. Prior to Mission, Cavnar held executive positions at El Paso Corporation and led several business unit restructurings. Previously, he was executive vice president and chief financial officer of Cornerstone Natural Gas. Cavnar received a bachelor's degree from Eastern Michigan University and an M.B.A. from Southern Methodist University.
