L. Gordon Crovitz is a Columnist and the former Publisher of The Wall Street Journal. He was also executive vice president of Dow Jones & Company. In his 25-year career at Dow Jones, he was a columnist, magazine publisher and founder of Factiva. Under his leadership, "The Wall Street Journal Online" grew to more than 1 million paying subscribers, making it the largest subscription news site on the Web. He led numerous acquisitions, including those of MarketWatch.com, Private Equity Analyst and VentureOne. Crovitz serves on the boards of ProQuest and Blurb, and is an adviser to several technology and media companies in California and New York. He received a bachelor's degree from the University of Chicago and law degrees from the University of Oxford and Yale Law School.
