Douglas Bystry
President and CEO, Clearinghouse CDFI
Douglas Bystry is President and CEO of Clearinghouse CDFI, a for-profit community development financial institution. He created Clearinghouse CDFI in 1995 in an effort to bring capital to low-income and distressed areas of California. Clearinghouse CDFI provides direct loans for affordable housing, community development and other unmet credit needs, and holds more than $250 million in combined assets and a loan portfolio of more than $60 million. It has received allocations of $258 million under the New Markets Tax Credit Program. Bystry has been providing financial services to low-income communities for the past 22 years. Previously, he was executive director of Santa Ana (Calif.) Neighborhood Housing Services Inc., providing rehabilitation loans and revitalization programs in the Artesia-Pilar area of Santa Ana. He also served on the National Advisory Board for the Neighborhood Reinvestment Corp., the La Habra (Calif.) City Council and the Orange County Housing Commission.
