Doug Teitelbaum
Managing Partner, Bay Harbour Management
Douglas Teitelbaum is Managing Partner and Portfolio Manager at Bay Harbour Management, which focuses on investing in markets for distressed securities. He began his career in distressed securities at Oppenheimer & Co. and later joined the research department and sales desk of RD Smith Company Inc. After working at RD Smith and its successor company, BDS Securities, Teitelbaum became a partner in the Los Angeles distressed investment boutique of Dabney/Resnick. He later joined Bear Stearns as a managing director in the high-yield and distressed securities department. Teitelbaum joined Bay Harbour Management in 1996 as a principal and co-portfolio manager. There, he has overseen complex and successful reorganizations, including Bally′s Grand, Barneys New York, Telcove Inc. and NextWave Telecom Inc. He currently serves as co-chairman of the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino and is on the board of Planet Hollywood International. Teitelbaum was formerly a director of Telcove and Barneys New York.
